### Sustainability Engagement

### Connect sustainability strategy with everyday behavior
IKEA wanted to connect its global sustainability strategy with practical actions employees and customers could take in their daily lives.

### Global Scalability

### Launch a platform that works across regions and languages
The experience needed to support a global audience while maintaining localized participation across countries, cultures, and languages.

## Encouraging sustainable habits at global scale
As sustainability became central to IKEA’s long-term strategy, the company sought a way to engage both employees and customers in everyday actions that support environmental goals. Carimus deployed the Better Living app using the JouleBug platform, delivering a mobile-first experience that encourages sustainable behavior through challenges, social participation, and gamified engagement.

The platform launched globally across iOS and Android with localized language support, enabling employees and customers to log sustainability actions such as recycling, conserving energy, and reducing water usage. By tracking participation and environmental outcomes, the platform allows individuals to see the cumulative impact of their actions while helping IKEA measure progress toward its sustainability goals.

## Impact

### Global Participation
### Driving measurable sustainability action at global scale
The Better Living platform launched across more than 25 countries and 22 languages, enabling more than 100,000 participants to log over two million sustainability actions.
